A German-built railway bridge 98 metres above a gorge in southern Türkiye. Skyfall's opening ends here.
Why go
A 98-metre-high stone railway viaduct over a gorge in the Taurus Mountains, built by German engineers for the Berlin to Baghdad railway.
The place
The Baghdad Railway
German engineers built the viaduct between 1912 and 1916 for the Berlin–Baghdad railway. Locals still call it the German Bridge.
The gorge
Below the arches, the gorge is popular with walkers, and the village of Hacıkırı makes a good base for watching a train cross.
The shoot: Skyfall (2012)
The train-roof fight, ending with Bond shot off the bridge.
The train roof
Skyfall's pre-title chase ends in a fight on the roof of a moving train, which crosses this viaduct. Eve, aiming from the hillside, hits Bond instead, and he falls into the river far below.
Real trains
The viaduct is still in use. The crew filmed here in 2012.
